Projects
A project holds everything for one goal: its tasks, team and releases. This chapter shows how to create and edit projects and who can see what.
Creating a project
- Click Projects in the top bar and scroll to Create a project.
- Enter a Project name. A Description (optional) of up to 500 characters helps others recognize the project.
- Choose the Visibility and the Project type; both are explained below. The type cannot be changed later.
- Add team members, if you like.
- Click Create project. The new project opens on its first page: the tree for a tree project, the backlog for a backlog-only project and the board for a board-only project.

Project types
The Project type decides which views a project has:
- Tree project: Tree, Backlog, Board and Releases. Tasks come from splitting nodes in the tree. Choose this when you want to break a big goal down.
- Backlog only: Backlog, Board and Releases. Tasks are added directly in the backlog. Choose this for a simple ranked list of work.
- Board only: Board and Releases. Tasks are added directly on the board. Choose this for a plain Kanban board.
The type is shown as a badge on every project in the list and next to the tabs inside the project.
Team members
The team is the group of people who work on the project. You are always on the team as its owner.
- In Team members, type at least two characters of a person's name.
- Click the person in the list of matching users. Their name appears as a chip above the field.
- To remove someone, click the × on their chip.
To change the team of an existing project, click Edit project on the project in the list. The dialog shows the same Team members field, together with the description and the visibility. Click Save to apply your changes.

Visibility
- Private: only the team can see the project.
- Public: everyone can see the project. Only the team can change it; everyone can comment.
To change it, click Edit project, choose Private or Public and click Save. The badge in the project list changes accordingly.

Closing a project
Close a project when its work is done. Nobody, including you, can change anything in a closed project until you reopen it, and comments are switched off too.
- In the project list, click Close project on the project.
- Read the confirmation and click Close project.
The project disappears from the list. To see it again, tick Include closed projects: it now shows a Closed badge and a Reopen project button. Click that button and confirm to make the project editable again.

The project list
The list shows every project you may see: those you are on the team of and all public projects. Each entry shows the project name, its type, its visibility and your role (Owner or Member), and a short description.
- Click a project name to open it.
- Tick Only my projects to hide public projects you are not part of.
- Tick Include closed projects to show closed projects as well.
- Type in Search projects to narrow the list by name. A line above the list tells you how many projects match, for example Showing 1 of 3 projects.

The dashboard
The dashboard is your start page. It has two areas side by side: Projects, the same list as on the Projects page, and My tasks, every task assigned to you with its status and its project. Click a task to open it.
On a phone, the two areas are tabs: My projects and My tasks, the latter with the number of tasks in brackets.
