Short answers to the questions people ask most. If your question is not here, ask the administrator of your Mabato installation.

I cannot see a project or task
- The project is private. Only the owner and the team can see a private project, and it does not exist for anyone else. Ask the owner to add you to the team. A public project can be seen by everyone, but only the team can change it.
- The project is closed. Closed projects are hidden from the project list. On the Projects page, select Include closed projects.
- You only see part of the list. Check the filters above the list: Only my projects, Include closed projects and the search field Search projects.
- You can look but not change. You are not on the team of that public project, or the project is closed. See Projects.
- A task is missing from
My tasks
. That list on the Dashboard and the Tasks page shows only tasks that are assigned to you. Ask a team member to assign the task to you.
I cannot move or change a task
- The project is closed. A closed project is read-only for everyone, including the owner, and shows a Closed note under the tabs. Only the owner can reopen it.
- You are not on the team of the project.
- The task was already released. Released tasks are read-only. Comments are still possible.
If you own the project, you can reopen it: on the Projects page select Include closed projects, then Reopen project next to it and confirm.
A node in the tree has no status
Only the lowest nodes of the tree, the tasks, have a status. A node that has children shows how many of its tasks are done instead. To give such a node a status of its own, split it into tasks first. See The tree.
An item is missing from the backlog
- It is Done. The Backlog lists open tasks only. Finished tasks stay in the Done column of the board until the project is released.
- It was released. A release takes everything that is in Done off the board. The tasks stay in the tree, marked with
Released:
and the name of the release, and you find them on the Releases tab. See Releases. - It has children. Only tasks appear in the backlog, not the nodes above them. If you split a task, its children appear instead.
- It is in the wrong project. Check the project name at the top, or use the search. See Finding things.
- It was deleted. Deleting cannot be undone. Ask the project owner or the team.
An integration did not fire
- The status change did not match. An integration runs only for the exact change you chose in Runs when a task moves, for example
To do → In progress
. Creating a task triggers nothing. - The project is closed, so nothing can change in it.
- The request failed. The project owner gets a notification with the reason: see When a call fails. Only the owner is notified.
- Mabato sends each request once. It does not retry and does not keep a history of requests that worked.
I did not get a notification
- A mention counts only when the author picked you from the list after typing @. A name typed as plain text does not notify anyone.
- You may have marked the notification as read already. Read notifications leave the list.
- The failure notifications of integrations go to the owner of the project only.
Browsers, phones, language and theme
- Use an up-to-date browser on a computer or a phone. On a narrow screen the top bar shows a menu button instead of the links.
- The language and the light or dark theme are stored with your account and applied at once. Change them under User settings, the person button in the top bar. Until you choose a theme, Mabato follows the setting of your device.
